On the last day of my trip, I decided to go on a visit to Fordham University. I’m applying to graduate schools this summer, and it’s at the top of my list. Rather than go on a formal tour, my dad, Jessie, and I went for a walk on our own.
The campus is beautiful, no other way to describe it. With all of the green grass and trees, you wouldn’t expect it to be in The Bronx.
And of course I couldn’t end the last day of this photo diary without bragging about what we ate. Less than ten minutes away from the campus is Kingston Tropical Bakery, home of the best patties and coco bread ever. Yes, ever. Everything is delicious and fresh, not frozen. It definitely beats the pants off of Golden Krust.
This alone was worth the 20-plus hour car ride.
And speaking of the car ride, the next day we unfortunately had to make the long trek back home. There was something about this trip that made leaving so hard. Perhaps it was strolling through midtown Manhattan, relaxing in Union Square; or simply the undeniable energy of the city. Though Florida is where I rest my head at night, New York will always be home.
Until next time, NY.
